6 Recipes to Try.

These days I am all about meal planning. I don't always stick to my plan, but its always a huge help to know there there is food in the house that can make a tasty meal, especially when I don't have the time or energy to run to the grocery store after work.

Today I discovered my new favorite recipes website (I have a lot of them!) - The Crepes of Wrath. I probably pinned over 100 recipes from their site this afternoon. I was honestly drooling the entire time.

I may not have time next week to make all these tasty dishes because I am working a lot, but I do hope to try at least two of them. I'm thinking the mexican rice because we are planning to have tacos one night, and rice with my tacos would be a tasty treat. The second recipe I will more than likely try is the smashed potatoes because, well, we just love potatoes! I could eat them every day for the rest of my life! So good! What are some of your favorite recipes that are on your upcoming meal plan?

This Week for Dinner.

The biggest change we have made to our daily dinner menu is incorporating a green salad with almost each meal. The only catch is that when we do that, we eat less of the main course and have more leftovers to eat up.

Last weekend, for example, I made a large batch of spaghetti sauce. I normally don't like to freeze sauces, I am not too sure why, but decided it would be best that I freeze half of it, otherwise we would be eating pasta and salad all week. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE pasta, but I do get tired of eating the same meal over and over again.

+ Monday: Leftovers: Spaghetti.

+ Tuesday: Leftovers: Spaghetti.

+ Wednesday: Butter chicken & green salad. Recipe here.

+ Thursday: Leftovers: Butter chicken & salad.

+ Friday: Leftovers: Butter chicken

+ Saturday: Mac and Cheese & salad.

+ Sunday: Dine out: Pub food.

I was hoping to try a new recipe that I found the other day, but we still have lots of butter chicken and salad to eat up that it didn't make sense to cook another feast. Maybe next week!! Did you try any new recipes this past week?

This Week for Dinner.

Dinner's this past week have been super simple, and as usual, have included some form of pasta!

If it were up to me, I think I could eat pasta every day. While out grocery shopping this morning, we bought $20.00 worth of vegetables and fruit.

My goal is to start incorporating more salads into our evening meals, and to start eating more fruit at breakfast time. I also purchased some oats and low-fat yogurt so that I can make some breakfast smoothies. I have never tried them before, but I know I love smoothies, so I am sure these will be delicious!

+ Monday: Leftovers: Cannelloni & caesar salad

+ Tuesday: Leftovers: Cannelloni

+ Wednesday: Tacos

+ Thursday: Leftovers: Tacos

+ Friday: Chicken Mozzarella. Recipe here.

+ Saturday: Leftovers: Chicken Mozzarella

+ Sunday: Homemade spaghetti sauce & pasta. Recipe here.

This Week for Dinner.

Last week I stumbled upon a new pizza recipe, Chicken alfredo. I was super excited because I love both chicken and alfredo. My boyfriend was skeptical about this recipe and tried to convince me not to make it; thankfully, it turned out perfectly and I have to admit, it was probably my most favorite meal this week.

If you are looking for some new, yummy recipes, you should head on over to my new favorite food blog, Cooking Classy

This Week for Dinner.

This past week has come and gone way too quickly. Monday was a STAT holiday, so we decided to bring out the slow cooker and cook some french onion soup, recipe here. Even though it was our first attempt at cooking it, it turned out perfectly.

I didn't realize this until typing up my weekly meal plan this evening, but for the past few nights, all we have been eating is pasta, pasta, and more pasta! Last week's mac & cheese was so delicious that I decided we should have it again this week, but with caesar salad. I love the taste of the two of them together on the same plate.

+ Monday: French onion soup & caesar salad

+ Tuesday: Leftovers: soup

+ Wednesday: Pesto pasta

+ Thursday: Leftovers: pasta

+ Friday: Mac and Cheese & caesar salad

+ Saturday: Beef stroganoff & caesar salad

+ Sunday: Tomato soup and biscuits, & leftover stroganoff

Maybe next week we'll make some more exciting meals, but I suspect the first few days will consist of leftovers as we still have soup and pesto sauce left. What did you make for dinner's this past week? Try any new and delicious recipes?

This Week for Dinner.

The first two night's meals weren't the healthiest, but they were really good (and greasy)! On Wednesday, D made Tikka Masala with broccoli and basmati rice. Besides being traumatized by the broccoli in my tikki masala, I really like the VH® Indian Market Tikka Masala Cooking Sauce he used.

Friday night's dinner was probably the easiest and most delicious -- I forgot how much I love mac and cheese.

Lastly, in celebration of "Family Day" tomorrow, my mom made a huge feast for us tonight. Lucky for D & I, there were tons of leftovers which means we don't have to cook dinner one night. Thanks mom!

+ Monday: Nachos, veggies & dip

+ Tuesday: New York Fries, veggies & dip

+ Wednesday: Tikka masala with broccoli, chicken & basmati rice

+ Thursday: Leftovers: Tikka masala

+ Friday: Mac & Cheese

+ Saturday: Leftovers: Tikka masala

+ Sunday: Turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, & vegetables

Did you cook any good recipes this past week? Hope you all had a fabulous weekend!!

This Week for Dinner.

The theme for this past week's dinner was leftovers (again)! Thankfully I love all the dinner's we've been making and could eat some of them every night if I had to.

I think my favorite meal was the homemade spaghetti sauce that I made on Wednesday night -- you should really try it, it was amazing! I am so glad I found that recipe from A Pretty Life blog. Tonight, we finally used up all the pizza meat and mozza cheese in the fridge; once we eat up all this pizza we can venture onto some new dinners!!

+ Monday: Leftovers: Pork, mashed potatoes & caesar salad

This Week for Dinner.

I love leftovers because it means we don't have to cook as much during the week, but sometimes I wish we didn't make as much so that we could have more variety during the week. However, that would mean I would have to spend more time in the kitchen cooking and cleaning. Anyways, our dinner theme for this week is  homemade pizza...!

And lots of it. We bought some pizza yeast awhile back, forgot about it, and now have to use it up before the expiry date. Thankfully we both love pizza!

+ Monday: Leftovers: Beef tacos, & nachos

+ Tuesday: Leftovers: Roast beef, yorkshire pudding & roast potatoes

+ Wednesday: Homemade pizza

+ Thursday: Nachos & homemade pizza

+ Friday: Homemade pizza & caesar salad

This Week for Dinner.

Since returning from our holidays, I have been wanting to try a bunch of new/healthier recipes for dinner. However, it's been quite tough finding the time to sit down and plan it all out because we're still really busy trying to clean/organize the apartment. Today, I finally sat down and figured out what I want to cook next week, so we finally made a trip to the SuperStore to buy $175.00 worth of groceries.

I have also decided that it would be kind of fun to start blogging our weekly menu(s) so that I can share some of these great new recipes that I have found, but also so that I can easily keep track of what I am eating, etc.

So, here's our menu for our dinners this week...

+ Monday: Butter chicken. Recipe here

+ Tuesday: Dine out: Sushi

+ Wednesday: Leftovers: Butter chicken & caesar salad

+ Thursday: Leftovers: Butter chicken

+ Friday: Beef Tacos & caesar salad

+ Saturday: Dinner at my mom's: Roast beef, yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes & salad
