Have you ever brought your lunch to work and someone else ate/stole it? And if so, what did you do? At one of my part-time jobs, there is a galley and we can order food for our lunches.
On Saturday, I ordered some pasta Alfredo with grilled chicken, my favorite item on the menu. I will admit that I meant to take the leftovers home with me, but I forgot. When I realized I forgot them in the fridge, I figured it would be okay because a) I wrote my name on the container, and b) I could eat it for lunch on Monday.
Because the galley is closed on Monday's, I normally bring my own lunch. There are supposed to be leftovers from Sunday night dinner, but sometimes there aren't any.
Fast forward to this morning ... the first thing I did was look in the fridge to find my container. Looking, looking, looking ... my lunch is gone! Seriously?! I am not impressed, not one bit. I headed down to the office and mentioned it to my co-worker -- he said its happened to him before as well. I have a fairly good idea who may have eaten my food, but am not certain.
Later this afternoon, I discovered some left-over apple pie hidden in one of the side fridges. I knew it was hidden because this side fridge is not where left-overs are kept. I figured this same person who ate my lunch, hid the apple pie so they could eat it during their night shift.
Since the leftovers are meant for all the staff members to share, I made a point of letting my co-workers know about this pie and shared it with all of them.

Seriously? People really do this food stealing at work? That's insanity! I would never eat someone else's lunch or leftovers...especially if it had their name on the box! Kudos to you for sharing that pie...now that lunch stealer's got their "just desserts". Too funny. :)
ReplyDeleteStopping by from the GFC hop! Nice to "meet" ya! :)
Yep, apparently they do. I would never eat someone else's food either - the thought of it makes me want to vomit..! yuck!

DeleteTo me that is so mean and inconsiderate. That happen to me a few years back and I made such a big deal out of it that the next week everyone took turns bringing me lunch. The person who took it still never confessed but it made me see that I really did work with a few nice people. something good did come out in the end. Sorry it happened to you.
ReplyDeleteI am following you now and hope you follow back.
