Currently.

Currently life is super busy right now. Lots of work, family coming into town, a wedding, various appointments and lots of laundry and cleaning to do. I suspect I may be MIA for the rest of the month. The weather here has been and will continue to be AMAZING for the next week or two, so the computer and the blog are both being neglected!

You can follow me on instagram, here, to see what I have been up to!

Inspire Me Favorites!

I cannot believe it's already the middle of July, where has the month gone?!

Last week's inspiration board link-up was based on the prompt "take me away." We had a really tough time picking a favorite board to feature this week they were all really amazing and made us wish we were lying on a tropical beach somewhere.

If I had to pick a destination, I would personally choose Hawaii. I absolutely love it there and cannot wait to visit again (hopefully sometimes soon'ish)!

Okay, now as promised, our favorite inspiration boards from last week:

Created by Stephany from Lemonade Mouth.

Created by Sabra from College. Crazy. Life.

Created by Tessa from Many Precious Moments.

Normally we would announce the prompt for next week's link-up, but we have decided to take a mini summer break. During this time, we want to hear what inspiration board prompts you would love us to feature! Simply leave a comment or email Deanne or myself! There are so many possibilities, and we would really love to involve all of you in this link-up ... so be creative, and don't be shy! We will announce our next prompt and give a special shout-out to the lovely lady who picked it on July 30th!

Monday Motivation.

It's been awhile since I shared a "monday motivation" post on my blog. By the time Sunday evening's roll around, I am normally exhausted from my six-day work week and not feeling motivated.

Yesterday afternoon, I found this TED talk video on via an article shared on my facebook feed and thought it would be perfect!

The reason I wanted to share this video is because it is not just about the yo-yo. I found the story behind this video both motivating and inspiring. This man's story is a perfect example of  how finding and following your passion can change your life. Even though he had a good education and job, he wasn't happy and didn't feel alive because he wasn't following his passion. So, he quit his job and started a career as a professional performer. Through countless hours of practice, he became a world champion. Once accomplishing that, he followed his next dream and took his passion to an entirely new level.

The lesson we can take away from his story is that if we follow our dreams, make enough effort, with enough passion, nothing is impossible!

Happy Monday! Hope everyone had a fantastic weekend.

Ten.

Ten is the number of mosquito bites I currently have all over my body, mostly on my legs, a few on my feet and one on my neck.

On a scale of one to ten, the level of itchiness and discomfort is currently ten. Without fail, I keep waking up at 4:00 am because my ankles are crazy itchy. Super annoying because I haven't had a good nights sleep in two nights.

One a scale of one to ten, the difficulty to shave my legs without nicking every single bite, is without a doubt ten. Thankfully, I walked away from last night's shower without any nicks. phew!

The number of natural remedies I found to help these super annoying, itchy bites, eleven. I have yet to try any of them, but according to an article I found from the Global Healing Center website, the following are all effective and natural remedies for relieving and treating mosquito bites.

  1. Organic apple cider vinegar
  2. Aloe vera gel, from an aloe plant
  3. A dry bar of soap
  4. Baking soda and water
  5. Slice of onion
  6. Toothpaste
  7. Raw honey
  8. Lime and/or lemon juice
  9. Essential oils
  10. Salt paste
  11. Raw garlic

To read the full article and how to create/apply the natural remedies, you can hop over to the Global Healing Center website, here. Knowing that we have a lot of baking soda in the house, I think that I will give that "remedy" a shot first! Fingers crossed it's successful.

Do you have any natural remedies to help with mosquito bites? I would LOVE to hear about them!!

Inspire Me: Take Me Away!

The prompt for this week's inspiration board link-up is:

"Take Me Away"

It's been a few years since I have gone away on a proper, sunny vacation. To say I am itching to go away would be an understatement. I would love nothing more than to go away for my 30th birthday, but I suspect I am dreaming if I think it will actually happen. *sigh*

Recipe // Curry Meatballs.

All week we have been eating healthy. Every meal has included salad and some sort of meat. Maybe a little focaccia bread here and there. In attempt to use up some of the food we have in the house, I thought tonight would be the perfect opportunity to try a new recipe: curry meatballs.

I love meatballs and I love curry. The outcome? It was good, but we felt like something was missing? I can't quite put my finger on what it was though. Maybe it was the spices, or maybe the slight modifications I made to the meatballs.

They definitely didn't taste horrible, I don't think, but I think maybe the recipe was missing a spice. Because I didn't have all the ingredients handy, I made a few substitutions... bread crumbs instead of almond flour, regular milk instead of canned coconut milk... (thanks google for the help!). Anyways, we figure they will taste better as leftovers!

The original recipe for these meatballs can be found on this blog/website called PaleOMG

Have you ever tried curry meatballs before? Suggestions?

Inspire Me Favorite(s): Stephany & Sarah!

First of all, thank you to everyone who linked up with Deanne and I last week!

We are quite inspired by all of the inspiration boards that were created, and cannot wait to showcase our favorite two! Yep, instead of picking just one favorite, we thought it would be fun to break the rules and feature two of our favorite inspiration boards that you lovely ladies created.

The first inspiration board that we absolutely loved was created by Stephany from Lemonade Mouth.

Last, but not least, the second inspiration board that we loved was created by Sarah from Random Thoughts & Feelings
The prompt "summer love" was also chosen by Sarah!!!

To keep with our summer theme, the prompt for next week's Link-Up is: "Take Me Away!"

If you have a particular prompt that you would like us to use for our next link-up, please email me at chelsea@lifeunpublished.com. Look forward to hearing your ideas and can't wait to see everyone's boards next week.

Hope everyone is having a great week!

Trying Something New.

I managed to get my hands on this fabulous cookbook, Well Fed, the other week. I have yet to try any of the recipes yet, but from what I have read, they are super simple to prepare and they look very delicious to eat!

I love pasta and rice (sushi!) and don't plan to cut them out entirely, but I can definitely limit my intake each week.

Tonight, we walked to our local market and bought a delicious piece of salmon and a bunch of vegetables for salad. One thing I really love about this cookbook is that has recipes for various sauces and seasoning. Once we use up the rest of our store bought salad dressing, I plant to start making our own from scratch! Yummm!

I can't wait to start eating healthier and feeling healthier this summer.
