My Go-To Photography App.

I am a loyal app user.

Yes, I have a lot of photography apps on my iPhone, but I do have one particular favorite which I find myself using more and more than any others. I do try to change it up once and awhile, but I always find myself going back to it. I can't help it, its an amazing, easy to use app with some pretty amazing presets.

VSCO Cam is available as a free app (with in-app filter purchases) for iPhone and some Android devices.

One thing I love about this app is its simple interface - probably one of the simplest I have seen in a while. This app also offers a number of image adjustment tools - exposure, contrast, saturation and much more! Unfortunately, there are only ten filters included in the free app; additional filters can be purchased for as little as ninety-nine cents, or as much as three-dollars for a collection of presets. Sometimes there are a couple of free effect downloads that are pretty sweet!

I am personally in love with almost all of the presets, so I have purchased them all. In my opinion, money well spent. Tonight, I also discovered a few new presets that became available back in December. So far, I loooove them!

October Photo A Day!

It's been a few months since I have participated in the #fmsphotoaday challenge, and thought it was about time I start up again! I would love nothing more than to get one of my photos featured ... possibly, maybe, I hope! While I love looking at everyone's photos on instagram and being inspired by them, I love challenging myself and trying something new with my photos to see what I can create. Lately I have been looking back of some of my original photos on my instagram account (@chelseadward) and have really enjoyed seeing how much my iphoneography has progressed. Owning an iPhone has definitely changed my life (and my photography skills!).

I have started playing around with a few typography apps on my iPhone. They are all unique in their own way, and I love playing around with each of them. Most of these apps are more than just for text-on-photo, they contain various design elements, to filters to fun badges, shapes and much more!

5 Things I Love about iOS 7.

1. New camera features. 

The camera is fast, like really really fast! Not only does it take photos as soon as you touch the shutter button, but if you hold the button down, it takes multiple photos. 

2. Instagram like filters.

Filters have been added to the camera app. Love them all!

3. Photo capture.

There are now three capture modes for still photography: the standard photo, a new square frame, and 'pano' for capturing horizontal or vertical panoramas. 

4. Photo library.

The photo library has evolved - it now categorizes photos by year(s), collections and moments.

5. AirDrop. 

This neat feature lets you share photos instantly with one (or more) of your friends.

With all of these fun new features, I can justify keeping my iPhone 5 for another year and not shelling out a few hundred more for the 5S. What are your favorite things about iOS 7?

Top 5 // Apps to Improve Your Instagram Photos.

It's no secret that I am addicted to sharing photos on instagram. This app has changed my life and has helped me to become more creative with my photography. I also love browsing everyone else's photos and being inspired by some of the amazing photographers out there. 

Lately, I have noticed that I hardly ever use the filters that instagram offers. It's not that there is anything wrong with them, I have found some other pretty amazing apps that I think do the trick a little bit better. Below, I present my top 5 apps that are sure to make your instagram photos even better.

Say hello to "PicTapGo"!!!

I have had my eyes on RadLab for quite some time now. RadLab, created by Totally Rad, is a Adobe Photoshop plug-in. Basically, it simplifies photo editing for photographers. I love taking photos with my Canon T1i and my iPhone 5, but I am horrible at editing photos. I would love nothing more than to get my hands on this software, but unfortunately I financially cannot justify the purchase. On the bright side, LiveLaughRowe has a current giveaway on her blog to win a free copy of the RadLab plug-in. I have both my fingers and toes crossed that I am the lucky winner!!! 

What makes Totally Rad even more rad, is that they have just released an iPhone app called "PicTapGo." I just downloaded it and I am in LOVE! The above photo I edited using a bunch of their filters; it's pretty sweet right?!! I don't think I have had any of my other photos look that great. If you are addicted to taking photos on your iPhone and sharing them on instagram, like I am, you have to go download this app. It's only $1.99, so it's very affordable. This app is easily one of my top favorites photo editing apps!!

Favorite Finds.

If you haven't already noticed, I am becoming more and more addicted to sharing photos via instagram. I am not sure how I stumbled upon this fabulous find, but I am sure glad that I did.

When I first saw these patterns blended with images, I was in love and had to find the app that would allow me to do the same. The only clue that I could find was a common tag in all the photos: #ndpatterns. I searched and searched iTunes and the internet for the app that would create these cool patterns. In the process, I may have dropped a few dollars here and there in the app store, maybe even a few too many that I didn't need to.

Thankfully, late Sunday night I figured it out. It wasn't an app I was looking for, it was a website. A website that offers instagram pattern images, for free. If you want to check them out for yourself, head on over to nealdieker's website here. There are two packs you can download, and they are both free! 

I absolutely love the idea of blending your photos with these cool patterns. The below image is something I quickly threw together.

Best iPhone App(s) for Creating a Bokeh Photo Effect.

I love taking photos, and I love Instagram; it's the most used app on my  iPhone 5!

The other week I was browsing the internet for some cool iPhone apps to create the bokeh effect on my photos. I really lucked out because not only did I find an amazing app that I am now addicted to, but I also found a fabulous website that I have somehow never stumbled upon before.

GeekSugar, my new favorite website, made my search really simple by compiling this list of 5 fabulous iPhone apps that you must check out. The cost of these 5 apps range from $1.00 to $2.00. After much debate, I decided to splurge on only one -- the one I chose was Picfx.

"With over 100 effects, textures and frames Picfx is your go to square format photography app. Layer as many effects as you like using the "Add another" function before sharing to your favorite social network or save to your camera roll."

To make this app even more amazing, it allows you to send your edited photo directly to your instagram to further edit, or share. Love it!
