...Thanks for stopping by and saying hi Christine!

We have tons of earthquakes off Vancouver Island, but most of them are small enough so we never feel them. I just hope it stays that way, at least for the next few years while I am living in a tall building. Experienced a 6.2 that was centered about 10 miles from where I was (1984). Also went through the 6.9 Loma Prieta earthquake that devastated so much of the Bay Area in 1989. My family and I don't mind them, they are fun as long as there is no damage/injuries.....
Christine at http://angelstitchembroidery.blogspot.com/Christine Jargick - JPEG Apothecaryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15187502513570474855noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1865839097793826193.post-84311890850818124272012-10-29T20:20:16.562-07:002012-10-29T20:20:16.562-07:00yikes! At least that's what I've heard for most of my life. The first quake I felt was spring break 8th grade (perhaps related to your quake?) I woke up to it at 5am completely terrified and couldn't go back to sleep. Since then, I've always been wary of earthquakes. I have survived many but still scared. I even went through one in Oklahoma, which was weird and unexpected. Quakes are not welcome in my life. Then last year when we were traveling to Victoria we were there for yours last year! (Thankfully we were on a boat & didn't feel it.) The biggest one I've felt was a 4.something, 2 years ago. I was at work, in a tall building, on the 6th floor. It felt as though the floor was moving left and right and the walls were not following. It lasted approximately 10 seconds or so...but it seemed long. Everyone left the building. And we weren't allowed back in just in case there had been structural damage. It needed to be checkout out by engineers first.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1865839097793826193.post-68236213881417269582012-10-28T04:38:47.371-07:002012-10-28T04:38:47.371-07:00I experienced an earthquake a few years ago when l...I experienced an earthquake a few years ago when living in L.A.. I'm from Michigan, so it was almost surreal. It took me a minute to figure out why the house was shaking and the dog was going crazy. It was just a little one, but I will never forget watching the waves in the pool. That made it more real than anything.

Holly
http://notdonegrowing.blogspot.com/Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17204797183314161445noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1865839097793826193.post-69842166913735186012012-10-27T22:55:16.337-07:002012-10-27T22:55:16.337-07:00I'm in PG! It was totally different than the Vancouver Eathquakes. More like a rocky boat.

I'm from Vancouver originally, I can remember 2 earth quakes growing up. The first, probably being the same one you experienced.SimplyBellehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01026651390923318596noreply@blogger.com
